here's a chance for you to learn more about me. I'm not sure why you would want to do that...

my name is luke j. howard and I like to pretend I'm somehow talented enough to maintain a career in film.

I guess my relationship with film started while I was living in new york. a close friend and I were both scraping by, working whatever jobs we could while simultaneously pursuing acting careers. I can't remember how it happened exactly, but at some point my friend and I decided to write a screenplay with the goal of selling it to some big name in hollywood, who would then hire us to star as the lead characters. the script was about a guy from south boston in his mid-twenties, working a dead end job as a janitor for MIT. the kicker is that he turns out to be a mathematical genius. when this is discovered by the people at MIT, the main character is forced to choose between continuing to live by the southie standard-getting drunk, busting jaws, going to jail-and a new life of challenges and true love. anyway, I guess people really liked the script because soon after we took the thing to L.A., a guy named Gus Van Sant was attached to direct. as it turns out, my friend and I ended up winning some pretty prestigious awards-I guess that sounds a little like I'm bragging. but I try not to think of myself as some lame, hollywood success story. I mean, think of all the talented people out there that will never be discovered. it was all very shocking, the recognition. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around all of it. man...

well, anyway, that pretty much jump started my career. after that I started focusing on my acting, which, thanks to some divine blessing, has been pretty prolific so far. I played a golfer in a movie with that guy from iRobot. I also played a fallen angel in this other film where Alanis Morissette is god. there were a few other things in there too.

more recently I've had the pleasure of playing an international hitman who has lost his memory by some extreme circumstances that he can't remember. anyway, he has no idea who he is, but he realizes that he can do all this crazy shit like beat guys up in really cool ways and blow stuff up and shoot guns. the rest of the story-it's a three part series-the guy has to go around and figure out who he is. and also there are a bunch of people trying to kill him while he's trying to make sense of it all. it's a real crazy set of films; you should rent them at the video store some time. seriously, if you like action, you won't be disappointed.

after making the third film in that series, I decided to take a crack at writing again-this time also assuming the directing role. that film, a low-budget short, was called NiPPLE, and it is probably why you've found your way to this website. it's an off-the-wall concept about this dude who wakes up one day and his NiPPLE falls off! when I told my agent what the film was about, he nearly pooped his pants! he kept going on about how it was the dumbest idea he had ever heard and how, if I make this film, "I can kiss my career goodbye"-it was totally funny. I made it anyway, though. and I'm glad that I did. even if it looks like it was filmed on some crappy dv camera. it was still completely awesome and fun to make.

what's next for me? well, some people have said that I should make a fourth movie in that hitman-who-lost-his-memory series that I was telling you about. others want me to do a sequel to this other movie I did about conjoined twins (I played one of the twins). but, I think I would rather continue to work on my own writing and film work. it's very satisfying. I hope that someone reading this or watching my short will contact me and offer me a chance to make more films like NiPPLE. I think if I had my choice, I would only make movies about NiPPLES. they are a really interesting part of the human anatomy. don't you think? especially guy ones. and I'm pretty sure not many people have dedicated their lives to making films about this particular organ (are they organs? probably not). so, if you are reading this and you feel like you would like to help me make that dream come true, please contact me. I have some other scripts that I would love to show you. I hope to talk to you soon. I really think that would be cool.

take care.
